GRATITUDE & OPTIMISM

I read earlier today on someone’s post that we should all keep the lessons we learnt in 2021 to ourselves. It is way too cliche to write those articles and the “maguire to perspire” that comes with them.

But cliche is not always a bad thing. At least not in this case.

It is very important that we take time out to reflect on how the past year has been and plan/set goals for the new year. When you decide to do this is entirely up to you. However, the earlier you get it done the better.

That said, my own reflection on this past year has brought me to this 2 words— Gratitude and Optimism.

There are many things to be grateful for. I am grateful for life, family, friends, relationships, health, growth, provision, salvation and so much more. I desire more than i currently am or have; but i am certainly better than i was 365 days ago. So i am grateful to God and the support systems he has placed around me.

There are also several things to be optimistic about going into the new year. Projects that failed in 2021 can be turned around in 2022. Relationships that broke down can be restored, monies lost regained, etc. New opportunities will definitely present themselves. Better days are always ahead! Thus, we have reasons to hope and be optimistic about the future.

Tomorrow, a new year begins. Whatever it may bring our way, gratitude and optimism will help us navigate our way to better things.

What are you grateful for and optimistic about?
